The Rise, Wokingham

*Update 10 October 2017

To connect our new pipeline to our existing water network, traffic lights will be in place along Reading Road (A327) between Monday 16 October and Friday 27 October.

We know roadworks are frustrating but we will be working as quickly as we can to complete this work as soon as possible.

To ensure our customers in Wokingham continue to enjoy top quality tap water, South East Water will be laying replacing a burst-prone water main in the area.

Work on the important £45,000 million scheme, approximately 124 metres in length, will begin on Monday 25 September 2017 and the project is expected to last six weeks, finishing in early November 2017.

Where are we working?

Work to install the new water main will take place at the junction of The Rise and Reading Road (A327) and will continue along a section of The Rise.

As a safety precaution for the public and our workforce, two-way traffic lights will be in place when we carry out our work at the junction with Reading Road.

We have been working closely with Wokingham Borough Council and it has been agreed that a two-way traffic light system will not only provide suitable safety measures for the public and our workforce, but is the best method for causing as little disruption as possible.

Please be assured that access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Work will take place during normal office hours however some work may also take place at weekends.
