Improving the water network for our customers in Wokingham
Following our earlier programme of work to upgrade the water mains in and around Wokingham we are continuing to improve the network in your area.
We are installing a number of meters, which monitor and help us to control the water flow through our pipelines at a number of locations across the town. The work began on 30th September and is expected to last approximately five months.
We were unable to carry out this work at the same time as the water main upgrade programme as we have had to monitor water pressure across the area with the new pipes in place. This helps us to see where we can make improvements for our customers.
As part of this work, construction is planned to take place from the Broad Street/Rose Street junction, along Broad Street in a southerly direction to a point near WH Smiths. We are currently planning this work to take place from 3rd January 2014 and anticipate it taking approximately six weeks to complete.
To keep both the public and our contractor safe while this work takes place a short section of Broad Street will be closed for the first couple of weeks of this work. The Rose Street/Broad Street junction will be closed for the first few days of the work. A Diversion route will be in operation and clearly signed.
Please note that access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.
