Sherenden Road, Five Oak Green Road and Amhurst Bank Road, Tonbridge

Why are we doing this work?

We will be looking to replace a number of raw water mains within private land off Sherenden Road, Five Oak Green and Amhurst Bank Road in Tonbridge. The mains have suffered a number of bursts over the years and are vital links between our treatment works at Lilley Farm and Pembury.

Where are we working?

Work on the £625,000 scheme to install new pipework, approximately 1.3km in length, will mainly take place in private land with some works in the highway.

Construction works will be carried out in stages, with the fields and road being returned to their original state upon completion of one section before the working area moves along to the next stage.

We will have a section of works that will require the crossing of Sherenden Road. Due to its narrow nature, we will have to close the road while work takes place. This is currently programmed to take place from 5 to 16 June.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

When will the work take place?

Construction is planned to start on Tuesday 2 May 2017 and the project is expected to be completed by the end of Septembember.

Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
