Chapel Lane in Blackboys, East Sussex

Why are we doing this work?

To ensure our customers in the area continue to enjoy top quality tap water, we will be installing 235 metres of new water main along Chapel Lane in Blackboys, East Sussex.

The new water main will improve the capacity of our network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.

Where are we working?

Construction works will be carried out in stages, with the road being returned to its original state upon completion of one section before the working area moves along to the next stage.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor we will need to close a section of Chapel Lane to through traffic only up until the junctions of Wilderness Lane and Sharlands Lane.

The diversion route, which has been agreed in conjunction with Kent County Council Highways, will be clearly signposted for the duration of the work.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

When will the work take place?

Construction is planned to start on Monday 5 June 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.

Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
