Wannock Drive, Polegate

Why are we doing this work?

To ensure our customers in the area continue to enjoy top quality tap water, we will be installing a new water main in Wannock Drive, Polegate.

The area has suffered a number of water pipe bursts, as well as water quality issues, which have resulted in people not receiving any water or suffering low pressure. This is unacceptable to us and to help rectify the situation we will be replacing the old unreliable water main.

Where are we working?

Pipe insertion techniques will be used to install the new pipe. This involves excavating a series of pits, and inserting the new water main through the existing pipe.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor, we will need to close Wannock Drive. Traffic Lights will also be in place on Wannock Road, at the junction of Wannock Drive, for the duration of the scheme.

We will endeavor to maintain access to homes and businesses at all times, however, this may not always be possible and in the circumstance that access cannot be maintained residents will be informed.

When will the work take place?

Construction is planned to start on Monday 2 October 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete, however our contractor’s staff will work as hard as they can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

Working hours will be restricted to 10am to 4pm, however if there are any works happening outside of these hours residents will be notified in advance.
