Our Planned Maintenance

South East Water carries out extensive maintenance of its water supply infrastructure so it can be sure of continuing to supply 565 million litres of top quality drinking water each day.

This forms part of the massive £310 million investment we are making between 2005 and 2010 to help provide a first class service to our customers.

One of the most important areas we are responsible for is the 14,000 kilometres of water mains which help transfer this water to our customers.

We are continually upgrading this extensive network, either by relining the pipes or replacing old cast iron pipes with modern, tougher, plastic ones.

This also helps us to protect the quality of your drinking water, while helping us meet our stringent leakage target set by Ofwat and minimise the amount of water lost from our pipes.

We are also carrying out widescale maintenance work at our treatment works and pumping stations to maintain our levels of customer service, and to ensure we continue to meet the high quality standards set by the Drinking Water Inspectorate and the Environment Agency.
