What are we doing?
We have been carrying out preparatory work as part of our plans to upgrade the site. This includes improvements to the entrance, ahead of work starting to help upgrade the infrastructure on site.
Further work to prepare the site is due to be carried out from the end of October 2026, ahead of the installation of a nitrate removal plant, which will be in addition to the existing infrastructure on site.
This will include the construction of kiosks and tanks on site and we’re expecting the work to take around 12 months to complete.
Following the construction, several tanks and buildings would be visible above ground, and we are looking at screening options as part of the planning process.
We’re really sorry for any noise or disruption caused by additional vehicle movements to and from the site during the course of the work.
There may be increased noise levels during working hours due to the operational activity, and there will be additional heavy goods vehicles using Whyteladyes Lane to access the site.
Our team will work as hard as possible to keep disruption to a minimum. We are carrying out noise investigations and looking at what acoustic measures can be taken to minimise the impact, both during construction and when the site is operational.
