Work: Replacing around 1.2km of burst-prone water pipes
Starts: Monday, 20 October
Duration: Approximately four months
We’ve replaced around 1.2 kilometres of burst-prone water pipes in Filmorehill Lane, Privett.
The water pipes in the Privett area had burst eight times in the last five years. This meant low water pressure and sometimes no water for some of our customers.
We’re sorry this happened – it’s not acceptable. We’re always working to reduce the number of leaks and bursts we have. With this in mind, we made some improvements to the water network in the community over a four-month period.

Road closure and diversion route
We worked along Filmorehill Lane, with a road closure required between the junction with Church Road, Hempland Lance, and Fawley Lane, to the A32 at the other end of Filmorehill Lane.
We worked in small sections, ensuring residents could still get to and from their properties, wherever we were working.
While the road closure was in place on Filmorehill Lane, two separate diversion routes were in operation.
One was to the north of Filmorehill Lane, via the A32 Gosport Road and Fawley Lane.
A diversion was also in place to the south of Filmorehill Lane, via Stocks Lane, the A272 (Winchester Road/Petersfield Road) and the A32 Gosport Road.
