Following water supply issues during Storm Eunice earlier this year, we have distributed a £100,000 Community Fund between charities and local businesses in East Grinstead.

As a thank you to our customers' ongoing patience in February, after power issues caused by Storm Eunice cut water supplies to the East Grinstead area, we are delighted to be able to give back to community charities, put forward by MP Mims Davies and local stakeholders, and voted for by local residents.

The voting took place via South East Water's online portal, My Account, allowing all residents affected by the water supply issue to vote for their chosen charity.

The £100,000 fund has been distributed proportionally upon the perentage of votes recieved by each of the 21 charities, up to £26,784.

We took the steps to set up this fund as the impact of the storm on our water supply was wide spread but not everyone in the area was affected.

Tanya Sephton, South East Water's Customer Service Director said:

"We took the steps to set up this fund as the impact of the storm on our water supply was wide spread but not everyone in the area was affected.

“As the charities and community groups chosen by Mims reach the majority of residents our apology is a practical solution that will benefit the town for years to come.”
