Our 2019 drought plan sets out what steps we would take to deal with a drought to ensure we could deliver a reliable water supply.
It details what actions we would take to conserve water and secure customers’ supplies, while balancing the needs of the environment.
These actions include moving water around our network, fast-tracking schemes to increase water resources, promoting sensible water use and the introduction of temporary water use restrictions.
To ensure the plan is right for our area we sought the views of our customers and key stakeholders and this helped shape the final drought plan.
We will soon be consulting on our next draft drought plan following recent changes to Government guidance. The updated plan is due to be published in autumn 2021.
